As a first-time mom in a new town in the midst of a pandemic, I was emotionally and physically rundown. A high-risk pregnancy, followed by a c-section and months of breastfeeding left me deconditioned, tight, and with chronic back pain. Home with the baby all the time, I struggled to take time for myself, and the pandemic made the thought of finding new activities even more daunting.
Janeen’s virtual classes give me a safe space to soothe my mind and body. I’ve always enjoyed yoga and find Janeen’s reflective, adaptive instruction to be incredibly engaging, including gentle cues for posture and alignment.
With Janeen’s “come as you are, wherever you are” approach, I feel both connected through her caring presence and free to let my own body guide my practice.
Without leaving my house, I am able to re-centre my thoughts and energy for some much needed self care.
